What:
Makeshift is a relatively new non-for - profit magazine that shares global issues in more depth. It is unique in that it focuses on creative solutions/ ideas that locals within their societies have made to tackle large or minor social issues. while it gives recognition to local heroes it also gives a very factual well rounded account focusing on economy, culture, creativity and social inclusion. In addition to this, the content within the Issues themselves revolve around stories related to a subject or word. For example boundaries, rituals, law and order. The magazine files the content through 3 sub topics one is always about creativity or usage, another is about what is happening in the world the negatives and the last is more on what it should be like almost similar to theory. It prizes itself on its ability to really interact with locals and uncover hidden secrets or ways of life.
Where & when:

Online and physical presence
Thoughts:
- how long can the magazine last?/ how much can they really uncover
- they are only presenting the issues and solution not actively getting involved
- does the money go towards the people they investigate or interview?
- Are they having a global impact on these foreign locals or is the mental stimulation just for MEDCs citizens
- Where and how did they get funding, connections and resources from to write content?
